Smart systems are the UK designed and manufactured and the material, Aluminium, has a relatively small carbon footprint. The metals are from Norway and travel by ship to Portishead. As a result, they only have a twenty-mile road trip to the Smart system’s factory ready for extrusion into the profile. The material gets delivered by road to fabricators around the country. The door choice is Visofold 1000, Visofold 2000, Visofold 3000, Visofold 4000 and their latest offering the Visofold 6000. The Visofold 6000 model is very slim but has strict manufacturing rules as it can be made to a maximum of 1000mm wide panels and 2200mm high.

ALUK doors are the UK designed and manufactured the BSF70 bifold doors can be manufactured up to 1200mm wide per door.

Schuco system is engineered so bi-fold doors to make more substantial than most other products. Hence designs unavailable in smart systems to be made in Schuco. Schuco is, therefore, more expensive than Smarts bifold and there are some clear benefits.
